Terry is a Montrealer and, like so many, is of Irish descent.

He was born on April 28, 1935 and is completely self-taught.

He characterizes himself as a 'painter or events' and his eye is equally

astute at capturing the details of a country auction under a tent as

it is capturing the fan experience of his NHL home team, the Montreal Canadiens.

Few contemporary Canadian painters have enjoyed their shows receiving

National TV coverage and Terry is privileged to be included in that group.

At one of his shows in Montreal, TV cameras caught people lining up outside the downtown gallery for three days prior to the official opening.

The three hundred year old Quebec stone farmhouse, the eight year old playing hockey in 'The Point', the river worm decoy, and the hustle and bustle

of Montreal's famous Schwartz Deli at lunch are all ingredients of a Terry Tomalty painting.

Terry catches his world in broad, bold strokes and his canvases come to life with vibrant colour transporting the viewer into the scene.

Terry has painted for many of the NHL teams and and he was invited by the Montreal Canadiens to accompany the team to document the first Outdoor Classic game in Edmonton with balmy minus 20 degree temperatures.
